Jacksonville, FL USA

This is a great pilot project -- teaching children to make their own nutritious food. A great group in Jacksonville, Florida that doesn't just talk -- it is getting it done!

The Great!
  • I've seen the results of this organization in... the smiling faces of children eating the cookies, scones and pretzels they made with their own hands.
  • What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... the children are so grateful.
  • The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... earnest, caring and giving.
  • If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... transform inner-city Jacksonville, one life at a time.
Ways to make it better!
  • My experience would have been better if... I had more time
  • If I ran this organization, I would... be exhausted. There's so much to do and very few resources coming in.
  • In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... funding and the need for training on organizational, nonprofit issues.
  • One thing I'd also say is that... baking bread with children gives them something tangible and wonderful to look forward to after school. It makes all the difference in their lives.
