Women's Community Clinic

I have been a volunteer physician at the clinic for 5 years. Working with a dedicated group of staff and the huge number of volunteers brings joy and meaning to my life. The gratitude of women who could not otherwise afford health care is priceless. Our care is the highest quality and delivered with compassion and love.
The Great!
- I've seen the results of this organization in... Prevention of cervical cancer through preventive health screenings, treatment of ambulatory illness and referral to city health resources when indicated. The gratitude of our clients as well as the health outcomes are the results we achieve.
- What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... What fabulous women I meet here, all of them, clients, volunteers, staff, donors. This place rocks.
- The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... See my other answers. This is an incredible group of women.
- If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... Expand service to serve more people in need.
Ways to make it better!
- My experience would have been better if... We need a bigger and nicer physical space in which to give care.
- If I ran this organization, I would... hire the exceptional staff that has managed the clinic, train the volunteers as well as they are trained and do as good a job as the current team
- In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... Space issues which will be addressed by our move to new facilities in 2009; continuing to find enough funding to expand our service. The downturn in the economy will not only make fundraising more difficult, it will mean there are more uninsured women who will need our services.
- One thing I'd also say is that... I've said it all. This is a remarkably wonderful non profit. It is sort of a dream come true.
MY ROLE: I was a Volunteer & I am a volunteer clinician and work with fund raising
