This organization's mission is to save lives through the public banking of umbilical cord blood. Cord blood has lifesaving potential because it yields stem cells which can be transplanted into patients suffering from as many as 70 different diseases. The Foundation's work is at the cutting edge of medicine and is non-controversial (unlike embryonic stem cells) and non-invasive. Join with me as we work to establish a cord blood bank in Northern California. The all volunteer staff is exceptionally devoted to this cause. The Great!
- I've seen the results of this organization in... the enthusiasm of people who come to know what it is the Joanne Pang Foundation seeks to accomplish.
- What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... Outstanding people associated with this organization: donors, friends, volunteers, board members.
- If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... Get the Cord Blood Bank up and running right away, and provide educational outreach to expecting parents about the incredible public benefit of cord blood donation (at no cost or pain to them).
Ways to make it better!
- If I ran this organization, I would... The organization is extremely well run and benefits from excellent organizational skills on the part of its volunteer board members.
- In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... many charities competing for public and private funding of noble causes.
- One thing I'd also say is that... I admire and respect Dr. Pang for his utmost dedication to this cause in his daughter's memory. He is a shining star for all of us.
