When I came to Goodwill in August 2007 I was on parole, homeless, and hardly involved with my two children. I was like a part-time father that wandered in and out of their lives. I did Goodwill's training program while working in the warehouse. Now my finances are in order, I'm off of parole, and I can provide for my sons the right way. I can be a positive role model for them.
The Great!
- I've seen the results of this organization in... My own life. Working at Goodwill has helped me see that I’m capable of accomplishing anything. I feel motivated to keep striving.
- What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... I like my job a lot because I get to interface with every single department in Production. I especially enjoy the crazy days when we are flooded with donations and we are all moving non-stop. On these days you get to see how everyone works under pressure.
- The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... My boss is best manager I’ve ever had. She’s really understanding and she works side-by-side with us.
- If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... n/a
Ways to make it better!
- My experience would have been better if... n/a
- If I ran this organization, I would... n/a
- In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... n/a
- One thing I'd also say is that... Goodwill has given me a chance to change.
MY ROLE: I was a Client Served & I work in Goodwill's warehouse and I'm in their job training program.
