I fled from Bosnia 12 years ago because of the war. I arrived in the United States unable to speak a word of English and needing to support my 3-year-old son. I went through Goodwill’s training program and I’ve stayed working for Goodwill all these years. Now I manage over 70 people.
The Great!
- I've seen the results of this organization in... The staff here encouraged me to push myself when I was in doubt.
- What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... I have two favorite parts of my job. First, hitting our revenue goals. Second, motivating other staff and clients as they turn there lives around.
- The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... I like getting to know my co-workers from diverse backgrounds. My peers here at the Goodwill are my extended family. I love my job and I would never leave it.

MY ROLE: I was a Client Served & I graduated from Goodwill’s job training program and now I am a supervisor in the clothing section of the warehouse.
