I was a Board Member & I've witnessed first-hand how our services change the lives of women. For many, the Women's Community Clinic is their only option.

I serve on the board of the Women's Community Clinic and do so because of the passionate staff, the vital role we serve in the community and our ability to get results. Where else in our city can women get quality, compassionate healthcare, by women, regardless of a woman's ability to pay?

The Great!
  • I've seen the results of this organization in... For many women, we are their only option for healthcare. Without the clinic, their health issues will go untreated, as most can't afford insurnace.
  • What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... Knowing I'm making a difference and helping women who otherwise won't receive services.
  • The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... Fantastic, and one of the reasons I volunteer my time! They're smart, passionate and dedicated to serving women.
  • If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... Serve more patients, provide more services, possibly serve a larger geographic area of the city.
Ways to make it better!
  • My experience would have been better if... No suggestions. It's a great group.
  • In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... The ever-changing health care policies and related funding.
  • One thing I'd also say is that... All women need healthcare. It could be your mother, sister, daughter, aunt, friend, partner or wife. Working with the Women's Community Clinic is a chance to help a broad group of people.

I have been a volunteer physician at the clinic for 5 years. Working with a dedicated group of staff and the huge number of volunteers brings joy and meaning to my life. The gratitude of women who could not otherwise afford health care is priceless. Our care is the highest quality and delivered with compassion and love.

The Great!
  • I've seen the results of this organization in... Prevention of cervical cancer through preventive health screenings, treatment of ambulatory illness and referral to city health resources when indicated. The gratitude of our clients as well as the health outcomes are the results we achieve.
  • What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... What fabulous women I meet here, all of them, clients, volunteers, staff, donors. This place rocks.
  • The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... See my other answers. This is an incredible group of women.
  • If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... Expand service to serve more people in need.
Ways to make it better!
  • My experience would have been better if... We need a bigger and nicer physical space in which to give care.
  • If I ran this organization, I would... hire the exceptional staff that has managed the clinic, train the volunteers as well as they are trained and do as good a job as the current team
  • In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... Space issues which will be addressed by our move to new facilities in 2009; continuing to find enough funding to expand our service. The downturn in the economy will not only make fundraising more difficult, it will mean there are more uninsured women who will need our services.
  • One thing I'd also say is that... I've said it all. This is a remarkably wonderful non profit. It is sort of a dream come true.

I've been working with the Clinic for nearly 5 years and I'm constantly impressed with the dedication, service and commitment levels of their team. If I'm filing papers at the clinic or helping organize the next benefit event, it feels as if everyone is moving together (and with enthusiasm!) to further the goals of the clinic - provide more support and services for those who need it, be more active in their community and spread awareness for women's health. I've really enjoyed being part of this wonderful organization!

The Great!
  • I've seen the results of this organization in... increase in number of women served and number of services offered.
  • The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... truly amazing people - selfless and involved!
Ways to make it better!
  • In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... trying to meet the budgetary requirements to run a much needed organization like this one.

The Women's Community Clinic is an amazing organization that provides free health care services to uninsured and insufficiently insured women. I feel so fortunate to be part of a strong staff that provides comprehensive, patient-centered care. Everyone is incredibly friendly here and committed to improving community health in a thoughtful, progressive way.
