Wesley Spectrum serves families and children with special needs, emotional disturbances and behavioral health problems become responsible members of our community.Unlike other education, mental health or family service providers, Wesley Spectrum provides an array of high quality services to give children and families the strength to learn, to live, and to love, resulting in stronger families and stronger communities. Every year, they hold a Gala to raise money to fund their efforts.
The Great!
- I've seen the results of this organization in... the testimonials from former and current families and students who are living proof they could not have improved their life situation without the help from Wesley Spectrum's caring staff and programs.
- What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... working with caring-dedicated people who really are childen oriented.
- The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... very children oriented. Each staff member is unique and possesses the determination to see the children with whom they work overcome their disabilities. Each child receives personal attention. Many staff and volunteers have served this organization since it's inception in 1960.
- If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... fund, develop, and expand more programs for at risk children and their families to become better and stronger families thus resulting in better and stronger communities.
Ways to make it better!
- If I ran this organization, I would... .
- In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... the turnover of young people coming into the field of special education and therapy, and the lack of funding to support children and families. Wesley also needs foster and adoptive parents who are willing to open their homes to children. There is definitely a shortage in this area.
- One thing I'd also say is that... When I see the staff and leadership's commitment to the 3,000 children they serve in their programs, it makes volunteering an easy decision and well worth the time spent in this endeavor.
