I've worked with some of the teachers and administrators at this school and am SO impressed by their dedication! I helped their Assistant Principal to analyze their student's test score and performance data and I was astounded by the amount of progress individual students were making at that school and the level of progress overall. I actually saw scores from children that a year or two ago were reading two or three grades below their grade level who are now reading at or above their grade level, which is amazing!
The Great!
- I've seen the results of this organization in... Their test scores. Students are scoring so much higher on California State tests after being there even a year or two.
- What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... Watching their growth. Sometimes the benefits of a school are hard to quantify, but it was amazing to me to also see their test scores this year and see the rise in the number of kids who are achieving above the state average.
- The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... Dedicated
Ways to make it better!
- My experience would have been better if... I'd spent more time there.
- In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... Focusing on educating their students, while also having to provide a lot of social services to student families and the community which is not typically the mission of a school.
