I've not only volunteered, I've donated to The Seany Foundation from the very first days of this organization. I was close to Sean Robins, the young man for whom this Foundation was named and the inspiration for it's existence. The Seany Foundation supports the noble goal of eliminating pediatric cancers while, at the same time, seeking to provide pediatric cancer patients with the same social opportunities as their peers. The organization has provided patients, their family and their friends with a chance to enjoy movies, parties and proms, as well as a safe, secure and accessible "teen room" where these young people can find peace and comfort, if only for a little while, in between their medical treatment and chemo regimens. I cannot think of a greater purpose for any organization and The Seany Foundation is to be highly commended for its selfless service to so many in need.

I knew Sean Robins and I know Mitch and Amy Robins. They have transformed their devastation at losing their beloved Seany into a crusade to eliminate the horror that is pediatric cancer so that no other family will ever again have to experience what they (and too many before them) have experienced. The Seany Foundation, since its inception, has raised awareness of the existence of pediatric cancers, raised money to fund research toward eradication of the disease and raised the hopes and spirits of so many young people now bravely fighting against their condition. The Seany Foundation is all about hope and, more importantly, perseverance--moving forward one step at a time, one day at a time--until the cure can be found.
The Great!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
the creation of the research chair at UCSD Medical Center, the Seany Robins Teen Room at Children's Hospital, sponsorship of the prom for cancer patients and so many other ways.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
the selflessness of the Foundation and its founders, Mitch and Amy Robins and also the commitment of the Foundation's volunteers, donors, and others associated with the fight against pediatric cancer.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
fantastic and awe inspiring. People of all ages, backgrounds and experiences have come together in force to participate in such a worthy cause.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
make a serious run at funding the research necessary to finding a cure for pediatric cancers.

I've been volunteering for this organization for almost a year now and the reward has been tremendous. The people involved in creating and growing the efforts for the Seany Foundation are what make this cause so special. Their empathy, creativity, and hard work make for uniquely effective results. It's a privilege to be a part of it.

My friends and I attended the Sex and the City movie premier for the Ladies Movie Night. Everybody was so nice and helpful. Great, positive atmosphere! I loved how upbeat and fun the entire evening was. We went for the birthdays of two people in my group. In most situations a fundraiser is not the way you want to spend your 40th, but this evening was a blast! Thank you to all the volunteers! We will definitely be back! :)
The Great!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
hearing about how the children get to do nights like we had. I sponsored a child to go to Alice in Wonderland and heard that is was a fantastic night for everyone.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
leave it exactly as is! We had everything we needed for an awesome night. The staff was so fun and easy going. I really would not have changed a thing.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
how efficient they were and how fun it was to be a part of the event.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
kind and lighthearted. Easy going and full of smiles!
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
help make major changes in pediatric cancer research and put smiles on the faces of many families.
Ways to make it better...
okay... this is really not important in the grand scheme of the evening and what they are trying to achieve, but... if the bathroom was closer to the theater, that could have been slightly better! :)
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
that it is relatively small... so getting their name out there and in the faces of everyone in San Diego takes time and major money.
One thing I'd also say is that...
I hope this organization achieves all of its goals. It seems everybody has been touched by cancer at some point, whether in themselves, a family member or a friend. Wouldn't it be great if we were able to find a cure?

The Seany Foundation is not only a terrific organization, it is also one that is sorely needed since it addresses pediatric cancer, a cause which has often been overlooked. I think it's great that Seany Foundation is doing so much to help children with cancer be exactly what they should be...happy children!

I have always had a really fun time at the Seany Foundation fund raising events. It is a great way to meet new people. Their last two events, the poker night and the pub crawl, were two activities I would have done on my own. Therefore, I was more than happy to participate and help raise money for a good cause.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Run monthly events for the younger crowd who most likely can spare $40/ month for a fun event but maybe cannot donate a huge sum at once at the annual dinner.

The Casino/Poker night was fantastic! It was a lot of fun and something different for a fundraiser. It was definitely a new way to try and raise money for charity and I think they should do it again.
