Target demographics: We target community wide areas interested in humanely reducing the free roaming cat population through TNR irregardless of social, economic or other issues

Direct beneficiaries per year: The cats benefit. The community also benefits through the humane reduction of community cats, reduction of tax burdens by reducing the cat intake numbers at city shelters. We serve as a humane option and resource for ill and injured cats as we have space available.

Someone who had 3 hours of volunteer time could: Build cat houses, feeders or make cat beds.  Three hours could be turned into a fundraising project.  Three hours could mean an evening of trapping or transporting. Three hours could mean organizing and office work.

Over 3000 cats have been trapped, neutered and returned- potentially representing thousands of kittens that were not born to continue the cycle of overbreeding

Over 500 cats adopted into indoor homes

Over 200 cats have lived out their lives at the Shadow Cats Sanctuary.  We average of 75 cats at any one time.

I don't think I've ever had or ever could encounter a finer group of people than those who constitute the Shadow Cats Rescue personnel. Shadow Cats is a wonderfully run organization. While some places are just a processing center for animals, Shadow Cats makes a real life-quality difference for cats who might never have had a chance otherwise. When I opened my business doors 3 years ago I did not know about Shadow cats. A customer told me she saw kittens and a mom playing across our parking lot in the flood control.
