Mission:
The Ross Valley Players is the oldest continually operating community theater on the West Coast.
In the early 1940s, RVP moved to its current location, the Barn Theater in the Marin Art and Garden Center.
Through the years, RVP has nurtured thousands of actors, directors, designers, and technicians. With offerings that range from traditional to alternative, RVP continues to be a place where seasoned professionals and gifted amateurs can experiment and grow. We pride ourselves on the quality of our productions, which have been consistently honored by Dean Goodman and Bay Area Theater Critics Circle awards and nominations.
Each year, RVP presents a regular season of six full productions, running a total of 30 weeks. We also offer special events and short-term productions outside the regular season. Plays include recent Broadway material, popular plays, classic theater, and a selection of works by well-known playwrights from around the world. We feature all genres: comedy, drama, mysteries, and musicals. Our newly revived staged readings program Plays in the RAW provides exposure to alternative works by up-and-coming or lesser-known authors.
