Around the World in 1,000 Kicks!
A fundraiser to beneift the Harlem community through taekwondo.
Around the World in 1,000 Kicks is a bi-annual event that joins students and non-students of all ages each doing 1,000 kicks to raise money for people in the Harlem community to study Taekwondo. The money raised goes to scholarships and tuition assistance for anyone interested in taking Taekwondo but unable to afford the full membership fee.
June 6, 2007 - About 35 people participated in our Inaugural event which raised over $11,000 and funded scholarships for 10 children and one adult.
June 7, 2008 - 40 people joined the fun and raised over $6,200, even in the hard economic time, showing the committment the students and community have to our mission.
September 2010 - Our goal is to raise $10,000.
Penguin Event
The Penguin Event is an annual black tie, cocktails and dinner event that includes an auction, both silent and live, and a recognition ceremony of the past years contributors.
December 14, 2007 - Our 1st Annual Penguin Event was held at Lasker Rink and enjoyed by all who attended, despite the threat of a severe snow storm and temperatures in the 20’s.
December 2010 - Our goal is to raise $5,000.
