NHCO is “People Helping People” and in 2006-07 35% of our revenue came directly from caring individuals who opened their hearts and their wallets to assist a neighbor in need. Another 14% of our financial donations came from individuals coming together to help, as congregations, civic groups, schools and businesses. Thirty percent of our funding came from foundations, 7% was from government sources and 14% was earned under contracts. In addition to funds, NHCO received and distributed $377,963 in food and grocery store certificates and another $141,545 in winter coats, school supplies, appliances, furniture, toys, etc. Inkind services included attorneys and other professionals who donated their time to help. The vast majority of inkind goods and services donated were received from local people of faith and good will who wanted to make a difference.
