Mission:
Our mission is to return a sense of self, confidence and normalcy to children suffering from hair loss by utilizing donated ponytails to provide the highest quality hair prosthetics to financially disadvantaged children. The children receive hair prostheses free of charge or on a sliding scale, based on financial need.

I donated my hair about a year ago - the stylist cut my hair, but I completed the donation form and mailed the hair & form myself, so I know the information was complete & correct. A few weeks later, I got a thank-you postcard... more »

I have donated four times. People do need to know that Locks of Love does NOT make wigs. Locks of Love makes prosthetic hair pieces, which are different from wigs. I am tired of people knocking the charity because they know that Locks of Love doesn't make that many wigs... more »

My daughters and their friends regularly donate their hair to Locks of Love. They fill out the donation form and receive a thank you card each time. Locks of Love prefers hair that is 10 inches long or longer, but they separate the shorter strands and sell them to offset the cost of wig production. ... more »
