Target demographics: In an era tested by the challenges of war, the DAV Charitable Service Trust looks in new directions as it builds on a proud record of compassion for America’s disabled heroes.

The Trust’s directors know demand for assistance will only grow, driven by two factors.  First, more young veterans will return from the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq injured and sick, and we must be prepared to help them in whatever ways are necessary.  Second, we cannot lose sight of the needs of the veterans of past generations who also defended our freedom and needs us today.

Our challenges are enormous.  We’re confident in the Trust’s ability to meet the changing, growing needs all of our disabled veterans will face.

Direct beneficiaries per year: Thousands

Someone who had 3 hours of volunteer time could: Through DAV’s Voluntary Service Program dedicated volunteers drive sick and disabled veterans to and from VA medical facilities for treatment.

The Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Charitable Service Trust is dedicated to one, single purpose: building better lives for our nation’s disabled veterans and their families. The only joy I had was my children. A friend told me about Vets Journey Home, then called Bamboo Bridge. The first ... more »
