Someone who had 3 hours of volunteer time could: Develop a community based fund-raising activity such as a car-wash, bake sale, or make a presentation regarding our programs to a local school, church or community group.

Geographic areas served: Guatemala

Mission:

To improve the quality of and access to education in Guatemala, and to cultivate interconnectedness between the peoples of Guatemala and the United States.

Results:

8 schools receiving grants for school improvement

29 students receiving scholarship assistance

2 after school learning centers

My daughter and son-in-law (Kristin and Danny) visited AVIVARA a couple of years ago. They have wonderful reports about the dedicated staff and the impact they are making on the disadvantaged children in the area.
