Mission

To engage public will to increase public and private investment in quality afterschool programs at the national, state, and local levels.

Vision: The Afterschool Alliance works to ensure that all youth have access to affordable, quality afterschool programs.

Facts:

• More than 14 million school age children are on their own after school.

Among them are more than 40,000 kindergarteners.

• Only 6.5 million K-12 children participate in afterschool programs. 

An additional 15 million would participate if a quality program were available in their community.
