Talk about great organization! At all of the NPC events that I have attended, the food was superb, the venue was well organized, and incredible hospitality! It amazes me how their employees are always gracious to those attending their events, but it is the NPC that deserves all of our thanks. Thank you for taking care of our parks and genuinely caring about your organization & the SF community! Thank you

NPC is the heart and soul of San Francisco's park movement, encouraging citizens to take better care of their parks and influencing the local government's allocation of funds for park improvements and open space preservation. The organization recently partnered with the city to introduce the new online tool, parkscan.org, where anyone can report an issue they see in a SF park (broken swing, missing playground components, graffiti). pretty cool. NPC is the driving force behind hundreds of park groups throughout the city- its such a great organization and I love being an intern for such a great non-profit

NPC is a great nonprofit and huge asset to San Francisco. if you are looking for an organization to intern for I highly recommend NPC. The work they do through ParkScan has really improved city parks, and has made real and lasting improvements to open space in the city. knowledgeable, fun loving and very professional staff!

This is a vital organization for the city of San Francisco. Anybody who has enjoyed a park in this city has NPC to thank for it. They are a public organization that helps move the political bureaucracy along. On top of all that they do, they manage an invaluable website, parkscan.org, in which you can send in specific problems or praise at specific parks. They respond very quickly to your inquiry. Great stuff!

The NPC staff are a great bunch of down to earth people who really want to see the parks of San Francisco improved for everyone. Without their help our forgotten park would still be often ignored or skipped when it came to funding. I look forward to a great partnership and continued success for all the parks in this great city. Keep up the great work!!!

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the way they have helped our neighborhood group be represented at city hall and in their aide and experience in grant writing and community outreach.

Neighborhood Parks Council plays a critical role in helping neighborhood and community activists preserve and improve our parks and playgrounds. When we started a few families in our neighborhood joined together to try to build a new, safe playground to serve the many children in our area, NPC helped us get started, identify goals, figure out where to look for funding and infrastructure support, raise money, manage our finances, navigate the City's agencies and processes, oversee the construction process, and make sure that both the process and end result would meet our community's needs. In doing so, NPC respected and supported the grassroots nature of our effort, and helped us to make the experience of building a brand new playground an empowering one. NPC knows how to navigate the City's halls of power, but is always willing to stand with grassroots parks activists to make sure our voices are heard. Even in tough budgetary times, NPC has made sure to protect, preserve, and improve San Francisco's parkland. It is indispensable for anyone who cares about quality city parks.
