When I first became involved with Interstages as a college student, I had already spent several years volunteering as a tutor for other afterschool programs in the D.C. area. My experience with these other programs had always been the same. They were full of people, like myself, who were excited and passionate about changing the course of a child's life by expanding their realm of possibility. People who understood that it truly does take a village to raise a child. The only problem is that we were struggling to make a village without anything to hold it together. These programs have great people, but lack the necessary structure to support them in their efforts. There was an obvious disconnect between the people on the ground and the people overseeing the program.
Coming from those experiences, Interstages was like a breath of fresh air. This program had a very clear and well-defined vision that was directly communicated to everyone involved with the program. As an intern, then a volunteer, and, eventually a board member, I've had the unique opportunity to grow with Interstages. Their full commitment to the girls in the program is what has motivated me to stay involved over the years. And their complete dedication to supporting their volunteers and staff creates the foundation for our village.

- If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... begin to change entire communities.
Ways to make it better!
- In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... securing a steady stream of funding.

From the beginning Interstages had the belief that all children deserve an inspiring opportunities. Child centered, forward thinking and dedicated to aiding young ladies navigate towards success.An inspiring program with the inspiration coming from the spirit of the students.

Ways to make it better!
- My experience would have been better if... money were not a concern.
- If I ran this organization, I would... lobby to make this program available to every middle school student.
- In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... infrastructure, resources and exposure.
- One thing I'd also say is that... the middle years are so important in one's development and Interstages offers wonderful support for these young leaders.

My Review There Is So Much That I Can Say About Our Wonderful All Girls Program.Interstages Feels Like Hom We All Are Like Sisters And The Teachers Our Like Our Mothers.They Make Sure We Are Safe Even If Were Not There.They Do Whats Right For Us For un.Academics,and Others Things As Well.

- In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... Performing But Not Anymore I Have Suceeced My Goal Already.
- One thing I'd also say is that... There Is Too Much Too Say But It Is A Home Open To Any Threw Grade 6-8 And Maybe Even 9th.

This is an unbelievable organization. The curriculum is relevant and engaging, and it is run by an ED who is absolutely relentless in ensuring that the girls participating benefit from the program.

- In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... Money, money, money (the mantra of all small non-profits). I encourage all to donate generously to Interstages. Your dollars will go a long way.

Interstages is a great program, we have alot of fun and can be serious sometimes. We play games, perform, recruit, learn, write, do goals, go on field trips, and have guest speakers.

- What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... dance in front of a lot of people when my 2 friends were late. I pulled it off.

- My experience would have been better if... I wasn't also in another program during the school year.
