I absolutely LOVE Enterprise for High School Students! They are awesome! I have been a member of Enterprise For High School Students since the 9th grade and now as a recent Ehss alumni I would like to say that I wish the program was still available to me. That’s how wonderful my experiences with Ehss have been! At Ehss I was able to get a numerous amount of jobs. Temporary, Spot, Ongoing, domestic, and commercial. You name it, Enterprise has got it. The staff is very friendly and always there when you need a helping hand. Need help with writing a resume? Want to find a job? Want to learn about college scholarships? For all this and much more Enterprise is the perfect place for you! If you are a San Francisco high school student you should definitely join Enterprise!

The Great!
  • What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... the use of their job bank.
  • The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... all very friendly and over time I have made good friends with all of them!
Ways to make it better!
  • My experience would have been better if... nothing! I like it just the way it is!

What a nonprofit, what a nonprofit, what a mighty good nonprofit! Enterprise for High School Students is amazing at inspiring students and preparing them for the working world. I joined during my sophomore year of high school, and got my first job as a mailing assistant soon after. I also was an intern for their Career Exploration Program, which was one of the most beneficial experiences in my life. The internship allowed me to build skills that other 17-year olds can’t obtain at that age from any other experience. For example, I became familiar with QuickBooks and reconciled bank statements. Where else can I learn these skills as a 17-year old? Nowhere! But Enterprise’s internship program allowed me to do just that. The student services staff and job counselors are very welcoming and helpful. The job bank includes a wide range of jobs, from long term commercial positions to spot jobs with residential employers. However, Enterprise not only provides for student’s employment needs, but also for student’s academic needs. For example, Enterprise offers SAT and college application workshops at no cost. Currently a sophomore at UC Berkeley, I recall my experience at Enterprise with much awe and admiration. I am so grateful for all of the opportunities Enterprise has provided me, from the skills that I learned as an intern to the confidence I gained in my abilities. Thank you so much! Every high school student should become a member of Enterprise!

The Great!
  • I've seen the results of this organization in... me! I wouldn't be as successful as I am today without Enterprise's help in my high school years.
  • The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... Fun and engaging people.
  • If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... improve its current programs, undertake new programs, outreach more, and open new locations around the city.
Ways to make it better!
  • If I ran this organization, I would... try to get more funding for the current programs.
  • One thing I'd also say is that... Enterprise is awesome.

Enterprise for High School Students was a very helpful program. I became a member during my Freshman year of High school & now as a Junior, I'm still frequently visiting every now and then to get information about new jobs and college. The staff are proclaimed "Job Counselors" but I would call them "Miracle Workers." They really sit down and find out your strengths and skills, then help find the right job for you. They keep you up-to-date with new jobs by e-mailing you, so even when you're too busy to visit the office, you still receive that information. Everyone is friendly and ready to help. Besides the job bank they provide, which houses numerous amounts of jobs that include the contact information, they also have a College & Career counselor. Their summer programs-- Summer Gardening, Junior Caddie, & the Career Exploration Program give all students a chance to look at their work and take pride in what they did. The required 2 workshops before becoming a member teach a numerous of skills, including but not limited to- resume, phone, interview, approaching managers, handling problems at the work place, professionalism, etc. Enterprise for High School Students is a great place for students who are going through the school-work transition.

The Great!
  • I've seen the results of this organization in... many, many ways. They have so much to offer if you put the time and effort into it.
  • What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... The Crew. You guys are so happy and energetic; I'm really excited you guys enjoy doing this because I enjoy being there! Thank you so much for the help.
  • The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... Extremely kind & helpful. I know that everyone goes through something horrible at one point or another, and even though you guys may be going through that, you guys are always smiling and ready to help.
  • If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... Do so much more than it already does. There location could be changed to somewhere more accessible. Each summer program would be able to accept more students. It would help, a lot!
Ways to make it better!
  • My experience would have been better if... The location of the office was somewhere more accessible. I find myself lazy at times and I've realized my friends who have just joined have trouble finding the place.
  • If I ran this organization, I would... encourage more students to get their friends to join Enterprise. Adults can perform outreach and try to get youth to join, but students who network with their friends usually get more results than adults.
  • In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... Financial problems that prevent Enterprise from reaching out to everyone and giving all youth an opportunity. The Career Exploration Program is a great paid internship in which only a handful of students may participate in because Enterprise doesn't have the funding.
  • One thing I'd also say is that... Join as soon as possible. Make friends with the people who work there, because networking with them will get you places. Talk to them, be friendly, let them know what you're interested in, and they'll do your best to help you.

I joined Enterprise about a month ago because I was looking for a looking for a specific type of office job, one that helps me with my major. I find Enterprise pretty useful because they have all sorts of job opportunities posted in their office. But because I am leaving for college in a few weeks, I did not apply for a job. However, I called in and asked for an appointment to help me write my resume and cover letter. They people there are nice and there was a staff member to assist me while I was writing my resume. The staff member actually called me half an hour before my appointment to make sure I was coming. Enterprise is definitely useful for high school students seeking specific jobs and don't know where to look.

The Great!

  • My experience would have been better if... there were more job openings

I have found this non-profit organization to be the most beneficial program to exist throughout my life. The staff is full of caring and helping people that are willing to sit down with individual students and really give them a hand. They not only help you with college and careers, but can give you some helpful advice and that extra push as well. In my opinion, a kid could not possibly ask for more.

The Great!
  • I've seen the results of this organization in... my peers (experience, etc).
  • What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... the advice and help I've received as well as the jobs.
  • The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... professional and knowledgable.
  • If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... have potentially better resources or become more well known.
Ways to make it better!
  • My experience would have been better if... I had taken advantage of the resources earlier.
  • If I ran this organization, I would... make it available to a wider range of people.
  • In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... possible competition or financial problems.
  • One thing I'd also say is that... there should be more advertisements about this program.
