In May 2008, the Federal Reserve estimated consumer debt at $2.5 trillion, which means $8,500 of debt for every person in the U.S. We are spending more than we are earning, and it is affecting us. Most social problems stem from the mismanagement of money. Prov 22:7 says we become servants to the banks that bind us. We must unite and educate Christians on this addiction to spend money. BeatingDebt.org is teaching Biblical values to help reduce the rising debt within the Christian community.
You can help BeatingDebt.org “Start the Engines” by helping to raise initial funds to provide critical products and services to its online community. Specifically, BeatingDebt.org will use these funds to raise awareness of the growing personal debt load and its negative effects, provide online interactive resources for education on budgeting and debt reduction, provide online encouragement tools for financial success, and provide materials for small group Bible studies/seminars.
